IFC helps drive John Lewis
Interest free credit again delivered sales for John Lewis, in the run-up to Easter, including record bed sales.
The chain boosted home sales by 13.2% in the week to 12 April. Outdoor living sales jumped by 60%. 'Core home sales were also strong, partially supported by our new interest-free credit offer, with a record week in the half for beds, helping furniture return 15.7%. lighting, up 15%, and textiles, up 8.9%, also traded well,' says Paula Nickolds, John Lewis buying and brand director.
The increases helped total sales jump by 13% to £73.95m.
