Awards set for return
The cream of consumer journalism on wool carpets, worth hundreds of thousands of pounds to the industry, will be recognised next month as the Red Carpet Awards return.
After a year's absence, the Carpet Foundation is reinstating its highly successful awards at Claridge's on 21 August. The awards recognise the part played by the consumer press in keeping carpet in front of the consumer and are very popular with the influential media.
There are eight Awards and the Carpet Foundation has assembled a panel of high profile judges: Sophie Conran (pictured); Fiona Fullerton; Vanessa Brady; Andrea Maflin; Fay Morgan and John Smigielski.
The Carpet Foundation described the awards as one of its best achievements. 'In 2013 the awards attracted at least £500,000 of editorial exposure for carpet and in June this year, Good Housekeeping dedicated an unprecedented eight pages to carpet – with the hope of winning a Red Carpet Award. Their efforts of keeping carpet in the media deserve to be recognized,' says a carpet Foundation spokesman.
