B&Q suffers kbb hit
Consumers turned away from big-ticket purchases at B&Q in the past quarter.
The chain saw sales of kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms drop by 6% in the 10 weeks to 12 July, which B&Q said reflected less promotional activity. This contrasted other indoor sales which rose by almost 2%.
Outdoor and seasonal sales fell by 8%, representing about 35% of sales.
Total B&Q sales dropped by 2.5% and 3.2% on a like for like basis.
