G Plan looks to FMCG sector for brand director
G Plan Upholstery has recruited Stephanie Hildon as its first brand director.
Hildon has spent her career mainly in the fast moving consumer goods industry. She has previously worked on a range of brands including Johnson & Johnson, Cadbury Colgate, Allianz and Bupa. Between 2010 and 2013 she was the marketing director at Organix and has most recently served as an independent marketing consultant where clients included Trunki and Ceuta Healthcare.
'I am thrilled to be joining the team and am really looking forward to applying the specialist knowledge and skills I have amassed. This is a completely new sector to me and I find it amazing that one minute I can be choosing fabrics with the design team, and then I can be on the factory floor seeing these wonderful items being handmade by the incredibly skilled master craftspeople,' she says.
Ian Oliver, G Plan and Parker Knoll chief executive added: 'Stephanie has a wealth of experience that G Plan will benefit from immensely. It is an exciting time and we are looking forward to continuing G Plan's success.'
The decision to recruit a brand director came in April when Richard Sowter, the then Parker Knoll chief executive revealed his plans to retire after 38 years at Derwent and Parker Knoll, with Oliver adding Parker Knoll to his responsibilities.
