Furniture stars for John Lewis at its ends summer sale
Furniture was a strong performer for John Lewis in the final week of its summer Clearance sale.
‘Home sales closed at a creditable 14.8% up on the year, with many areas enjoying double-digit increases on the year. We saw substantial growth in furniture, which was up 17.4%, driven by fitted furniture at 46.5% up and living and dining at 26.6% up,’ says Dino Rocos, John Lewis operations director.
Overall sales in the week to 25 July were 10.2% higher at £76.51m and up 3.4% for the 25 week period. Home sales were up by 4.2% in the period.
Its Poole At Home store was the best performing branch in the week with sales 26.8% higher. Online sales were up 16.5%.
