Industry events raise more than £15,000 for charity
Two recent industry events have raised more than £15,000 for charity.
The comedy night at The Flooring Show, organised by Dave Francis raised £9,050. This has been equally split between Children's Variety, CLIC Sargent and Candlelighters (pictured).
‘It was a fantasic evening and the important thing was to raise funds for these three charities. Many thanks to everyone who came and donated so generously,’ said Francis.
The gala dinner at the Bed Show raised £6,010 for the Furniture Makers’ Company.
Some £2,310 was generated through ticket sales, with a table collection raising £2,700 plus a further pledge for £1,000 was also made.
‘We’re delighted that our gala dinner raised such an amazing amount. We’ve worked closely with the charity for a number of years and it is fantastic to know that people are still very willing to put their hands in their pockets and donate money to help the Furniture Makers’ – which is the industry’s only dedicated charity,’ said Jessica Alexander, National Bed Federation executive director.
