Furniture helps John Lewis to another rise
Strong bedroom and living and dining sales helped John Lewis lift turnover by £6.5m last week.
‘Sales in Home ended the week up 9.5%. Despite the unpredictable weather seen in parts of the country, sales in outdoor living finished 9.7% higher. Furniture also performed strongly up14.2%, with highlights such as beds and bedroom 19.7% higher and living dining up 19.4%,’ says Ed Connolly
John Lewis fashion director.
Sales for the week to 25 June rose by 7.3% to £96.7m. ‘In line with the market, Clearance was brought forward compared to last year, and this was the main driver for the increase in sales,’ adds Connolly.
Home sales for the 21 week period were up 5.4%.
