Steve Wilson, Headlam group finance director since 1991 has become chief executive officer and Tony Judge promoted to chief operating officer.
The group announced that ‘after more than 25 years with the business, Tony Brewer is stepping down as group chief executive. Tony, who was group chief executive for 16 years, has been instrumental in building the group, and the board would like to place on record its thanks and appreciation for all that he has achieved.’
Brewer was appointed an executive director in June 1991, becoming md of the floorcoverings division in January 1992, and was appointed group chief executive in November 2000.

Until the group appoints a new chief financial officer, Wilson will maintain oversight of the finance function.
Judge, previously commercial director of the Coleshill and Tamworth businesses ‘brings an abundance of knowledge and expertise to the role.’
‘On behalf of the board, I would like to express our sincere thanks to Tony Brewer for his enormous contribution to the building of Headlam into Europe's leading floorcovering distributor. We wish him well for the future,’ says Dick Peters, Headlam chairman.
Brewer was paid £1.175m last year, including a bonus of £592,000.
