John Lewis sees home growth return
John Lewis saw home sales return to growth in the past week.
Home sales rose 1.3% in the week to 10 June, but were down 0.7% for the 19 week period.
‘Home sales were up 1.3%. Cook and dine sales were positively impacted by price matching a competitor's event which saw sales in our Living Dining category grow by 10.6% and Utility Shop sales increase by 6.5%,’ said Alison Smith, John Lewis head of shop trade south and west.
Fashion sales rose by 7.9% and electricals and home technology by 2%.
Total sales rose 3.9% to £73.78m.
