Carpet fitter finalists revealed
The six finalists for the NICF Carpet Fitter of the Year 2017 competition have been announced.
The final will take place on 17-18 September at The Flooring Show.
The finalists are: Darren Ash, Alfrick, Worcestershire; Jason Draper, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire; Dan Evans, Huntingdon, Cambridgshire; Rob Harper, Wigan, Greater Manchester; Byron Terrett, Llantwit Major, Vale of Glamorgan and John Wright, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire.
The successful finalists will face their final tasks over 17 and 18 September in the Kings Suite of The Flooring Show. Visitors and exhibitors can watch the finals, free of charge, to see what it takes to become Carpet Fitter of The Year.
Congratulations must go to the 2016 winner, Mark Smurthwaite, who was the first winner of the competition after its 15 year hiatus and a huge well done to all who took part in this years competition & we wish the best of luck to all of the finalists!
Also returning to the show are the demo zones, run by FITA, NICF and CFA.
Zone 1 in Hall B will focus on subfloor and tool demonstrations including: moisture measurement and equipment, repair mortars, plywood templating, smoothing products, specialist subfloor preparation, tools and adhesive application.
Zone 2 in Hall Q’s Contract Zone will demonstrate floor finishes including: underlay installation; carpet stretch fit installation; carpet joins; vinyl installation; LVT installation; laminate installation and stair carpet installation.
