New upholstery firm SSG to focus on independent retailers
Thomas Small, TCS md and Gerald Cutherbertson, Sofa So Good NE director, have formed a new soft cover upholstery company: SSG.
The new company has taken on the Newton Aycliffe, County Durham firm’s workforce and premises.
SSG will focus on independent retailers in the UK and Republic of Ireland, with products available on a 7-14 day delivery schedule. They will be sold through TCS.
Cutherbertson has been a director of Sofa So Good NE since October 2010 and will be SSG’s lead designer.
Scott Latta is the company’s new operations director, with two decades of experience in the upholstery sector including working with several multiples.
Small will focus on integrating SSG’s manufacturing with TCS’s distribution operation.
Sofa So Good NE’s most recent accounts show that in the year to 30 November 2015; it had cash of £104,541, up from £45,539; assets of £336,732, down from £354,813 and liabilities of £260,392, up from £230,713.
