Silvera crosses the Channel
French designer furniture retailer Silvera has crossed the Channel to launch its first London showroom on the King’s Road.
The UK flagship store joins Silvera’s 10 Parisian showrooms, bringing with it a catalogue of over 500 brands for the home and office.
The 5,400sqft two-storey store, designed by French architectural firm Jouin Manku, carefully retains many of the building’s original architectural features, including a large windowed façade, exposed brick walls and a orangery, illuminated by a Bocci lighting installation intertwined with living plants. Downstairs, below street level, eight characterful vaults will house a rotating showcase of products.
Silvera’s shop floor includes furniture pieces by high-profile brands such as Cassina, Hay, Moroso, Fritz Hansen, Vitra, Walter Knoll, Living Divani, Edra, Porro, Baxter, Zanotta, Glas Italia, Overgaard & Dyrman, Editions and Petite Friture.
In addition, Silvera houses lighting brands Bocci, Flos, Lee Broom, Brokis, as well as rugs from cc-tapis, Kasthall, Paola Lenti and Golran. Silvera also includes a concept store unique to the London showroom, stocking gifts and lifestyle brands including Christofle, La Boite Concept, Venini, Minimalux, Verreum, Imperfetto Lab, Seletti, Zaha Hadid and Native Union.
It also plans to use the store to house limited and special-edition or exclusive products, as well as frequent curated exhibitions.
