Nectar adds to mattress mix

Competition in the foam mattress in a box market has increased further, with Nectar Sleep launching in the UK.

The company was founded in the US by Craig Schmeizer, Eric Hutchinson and Ran Reske in 2016 and has sold more than 100,000 mattresses.

It is offering a 365-night trial ‘forever’ warranty and 48 hour delivery (3-10 days for Scotland and offshore).

Prices range from £399 for a single to £799 for a super-king size.

The mattress has an Adaptive cooling cover, a four-layer design and is manufactured in Nottinghamshire.

‘The UK mattress market has seen a seismic change in recent years, as shoppers grow frustrated by traditional retailers and expect a smarter and more on-demand process. With a business model that challenges competitors in this space and through access to top talent, we see the UK as the best place to expand our international operations,’ said Angela Crouch, Nectar Sleep md.

‘We understand the positive impact of a good night’s sleep, which is why our philosophy of Smart Sleep is embedded in everything we do. From high quality design, innovative cooling technology right through to our seamless delivery process, competitive pricing and unique 365-day trial period – giving Brits a better night’s sleep is at the heart of our product.’

It plans to introduce a bed frame, duvet, mattress protector and pillows.

Nectar sells 1,000 mattresses a day in the US and it claims to be the fastest growing online mattress company in the country.
