Samson calls time on branded UK presence
Samson Holding is to exit the UK branded furniture market after a decade, putting Willis & Gambier up for sale and blaming Brexit.
The Chinese manufacturing group says the cabinet company will close at the end of April, with no orders accepted after 28 February.
Samson bought the company from administration in October 2008 for an initial £4.43m.
‘The UK, following the Brexit decision made in 2016, is facing extremely challenging market conditions, with little sign of clarity. Furthermore, the change in customer buying patterns and expectations has added to the placed pressure on our division in the UK, Willis & Gambier,’ said Samson.
