Ashley Manor boosts management team

Upholstery manufacturer Ashley Manor has strengthened its management team with two senior appointments.

Paul Whitelocks has become md. ‘Paul was the obvious person for me to help steer Ashley Manor into it’s next phase as a fast growing British business. His appreciation of design, love of product and knowledge of the marketplace adds interesting layers to his expertise in running and developing companies, I’m looking forward to the next chapter,’ said Mark Smith, Ashley Manor, Alexander & James and AMX Design ceo.

‘Paul has spent a lifetime absorbed by the furniture sector and has garnered his wide ranging experience against a landscape of industry names such as Christie-Tyler, Ultra, Wyevale Group and The Belfield Group and Alexander & James.

‘I am delighted to be part of this exciting new chapter in Ashley Manor’s history. With many years of experience behind us, we have now added an extra ‘sparkle’ with Scott’s fabulous design skills and we launched our latest collections at January Furniture Show which really showcased our new design language’,’ said Whitelocks.

His wife Alejandra will take over running The Cotswold Bed Company.

Lisa Broad has joined as sales director. ‘Lisa is well known for her stylish approach to range development being responsible for many high profile launches at Harveys, where as head of buying she spent many years. Her strategic thinking ensures ranges are targeted toward the right customer needs and wants and she is always ahead of the curve when it comes to spotting where the market is going. Her retail background that includes BHS and Laura Ashley means she will appreciate the retailer viewpoint and see things through their gaze. We are all excited to be working with Lisa and it’s great that she took a turn in direction. We are extremely lucky to have her,’ said Smith.

‘I’ve always had a real passion for upholstery and with my background in textiles I have a real interest in fabrics, design detailing and trends,’ she said.
