Habitat to close flagship TCR store
Habitat is to close its flagship central London store.
The Tottenham Court Road store opened 54 year ago, but will close as focus switches to online sales and increased distribution through Sainsbury’s supermarkets.
The Finchley Road, north London store will also close early next year.
'Over the years the [Tottenham Court Road] store has provided inspiration to millions, but as the retail market continues to change it's important we adapt and focus investment so we can meet our customers' needs as they increasingly want to shop with us online,’ says Sainsbury’s.
The closures will see the chain have three standalone branches: Brighton, Leeds and Westfield London (pictured) along with 11 ‘mini-Habitats’ within Sainsbury’s stores.
