Abingdon looks to marketing push with appointment
Abingdon Flooring has appointed a new head of marketing as it looks to boost shopper engagement.
Millie Barlow is responsible for guiding the company’s marketing strategy and the newly formed merchandising team.
Barlow has a track record in developing in-store and online brand and product strategies, previously director of marketing and strategy for Long Rake Spar, a decorative aggregate supplier. Here she focused on marketing driven by trend analysis, communication and insight to boost retailer and shopper engagement. She holds a Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing alongside her undergraduate degree from the University of York. Barlow is currently studying a Master’s in Business Administration, specialising in International Marketing at the University of Leicester.
‘2020 has been a challenging year for all of us but it is clear the industry has remained remarkably resilient. Millie joins the team when we are experiencing record levels of demand and our teams are working hard to minimise the impact of a second lockdown. Despite this we continue to plan for the future and Millie’s expertise in brand management, digital marketing and stakeholder engagement will help us to achieve our aims,’ says Martin Peace, Abingdon sales and marketing director.
‘I’m looking forward to developing the iconic collections that make up our portfolio and its certainly inspiring to work in an environment that’s focused on the future, on gaining efficiencies and developing meaningful customer experiences through digital and traditional channels,’ says Barlow.
