Emma sees UK sales almost double
Emma – The Sleep Company saw UK sales almost double in the third quarter.
Sales jumped by 95% after it updated its product offer and cut the price of its Emma Original mattress. Quarterly turnover figures are not provided.
‘These figures are a testament to the strength of our business model, strategy, and execution. Even during the current highly uncertain macro environment we continue to deliver sustained growth. I am pleased to see that our strategy in 2020 bears fruit and UK customers keep trusting our brand,’ says Santosh Marrivagu, Emma head of UK and Ireland.
The company says it was the most searched for mattress in the UK.
It also reported strong sales in the Republic of Ireland after a major increase in marketing and introducing EU sizes, with sales increasing by 222%.
‘The figures in Ireland are even more impressive than in the UK. They convey that while the market is consolidating with the exit of multiple direct competitors in the online mattress category, we have grown tremendously in Q3. We aim to continue this success story by intensifying our activities in Ireland both online and offline,’ says Marrivagu.
The company has recently introduced a cot mattress to the UK and Irish markets (pictured).
