Jobs to go at Dreams
More than a quarter of the staff at Dreams' head office are to lose their jobs while more branches are to close. About 60 jobs will go at the High Wycombe head office, which employs 228, as part of a restricting after the purchase of the chain by Sun European in March.
A further 30 jobs will go when eight branches are closed by the end of next month after unsuccessful lease negotiations with landlords. This will cut stores number to 164. More than 90 former branches that were not part of the Sun European deal have already closed.
The chain is to take its distribution in-house, creating up to 50 jobs. Yodel currently carries out Dreams' distribution.
