Flooring saw annual price inflation pick up again in April.
The Office for National Statistics says the annual rate rose from 7.4% to 9%. In April 2021 the rate was 6.5%, and last month’s figure was the second highest in the past year, behind September 2021’s 9.6%.
The rate for carpets and rugs jumped from 5.6% to 6.5% while other floorcoverings dropped from 17.9% to 15.5%, the second successive fall.
