Footfall picks up

Non-food footfall picked up in the past week, with high streets, retail parks and shopping centres all seeing an upturn.

Footfall was down by 13.8% compared with 2019 in the week to 30 October, an improvement on the previous week’s drop of 17.1%.

High streets saw footfall 12.4% lower (-15%), retailer parks were down 9.2% (-15.8%) and shopping centres were 14.8% lower (-18.7%), according to the Ipsos Retail Traffic Index.

London and the south east of England experienced the smallest decline: -10.5%.
