Non-food retail footfall improved significantly last week.
Footfall, as measured by Ipsos’s Retail Traffic Index, was 4.7% down on 2019 from 2-8 May. This compares with a drop of 11.5% the previous week.
Retail parks were again the best performer, almost returning to 2019 levels, with footfall down just 1%.
High streets saw a 8.6% drop and shopping centres a 9.2% fall.
London and the South East of England was the best performing region, with footfall 6.1% lower than 2019 while Scotland and Northern Ireland had a fall of 11.1%.
