Heal’s partners with domestic abuse charity Furnishing Futures

Heal’s has begun to support the Furnishing Futures charity, which creates homes for women and children escaping domestic abuse.

Furnishing Futures furnishes homes for those who have escaped domestic abuse and been placed in empty social housing. By supporting the charity, Heal’s aims to use design to help transform people’s lives and make a difference.

Furnishing Futures is dedicated to tackling this challenge by working with the interiors industry to source, re-use and re-purpose high-quality furniture items and home accessories, and donate them to women and children most in need.

Heal’s is supporting Furnishing Futures through donating ex-display furniture and home accessories to the charity’s refurbishment projects; taking part in staff volunteering days at the charity’s warehouse, helping to package and assemble orders and helping with fundraising.

‘Furnishing Futures provides much-needed support to women and children as they seek to rebuild their lives. At Heal’s, we believe in design that makes a real difference in people’s quality of life, and we’re proud to play our part in helping families to make a house a home. Through the partnership, we hope to help create even more safe havens for those most in need, giving them a firm foundation to build a more positive future, while also supporting our commitment to sustainable solutions for both people and planet,’ says Hamish Mansbridge, Heal’s ceo.

Furnishing Futures has created more than 120 homes for domestic abuse survivors, supporting over 300 women and children. Its work has ensured 66,000kg of furniture has avoided landfill, saving 90,000 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere.

‘We are thrilled to partner with Heal’s and grateful for the business’s support in tackling furniture poverty. Heal’s contributions will help us transform even more empty houses into homes where families can heal and rebuild their lives,’ says Emily Wheeler, Furnishing Futures ceo and founder.
