MontTomMore than 500 jobs go as curtain retailer and manufacturer Montgomery Tomlinson fails to find a buyer and appoints administrators. Some 530 employees at its 123 department store and retail concessions and its factory and warehouse facility in Bretton, near Chester, were made redundant by administrators.

DFSsale813The use of misleading sale prices is 'endemic' in the interiors sector, according to the Office of Fair Trading as it warns shoppers to double check offers ahead of the Bank Holiday. The OFT has accused seven major chains – Bensons, Carpetright, DFS, Dreams, Furniture Village, Harveys and ScS – of misleading shoppers with fake sale reductions.
