Robertson confirmed in Sterling role

Sterling Furniture has confirmed Stewart Robertson as chief executive, six months after he took on the role in an interim basis.

The group says his appointment reflects the momentum it has developed under the leadership of Robertson and chairman Bernard Dunn, as it looks to return to the black.

‘I am delighted that Stewart has become permanent chief executive of Sterling. The company is a highly-regarded and well-established name throughout Scotland which, like so many other high street brands, has been buffeted by the economic turbulence caused by the cost of living crisis,’ says Dunn.

‘The underlying foundations of the business are sound, and together with Stewart and the board, we will continue to bring a renewed focus on the core values and standards that have underpinned our past success so we can lay secure foundations for the future.’

‘As the new chief executive of Sterling, I am proud of how the company has responded to what has been a difficult and challenging period. As a business, we are putting the right structures in place to lay the groundwork for sustainable growth. Sterling is a well-known and much-loved brand, a business with great people, strong values and deep roots in communities throughout Scotland,’ says Robertson.

‘We recognise that the company must continue to work hard to ensure that Sterling builds towards a successful future.’
