10 and counting for Porada

Porada is to mark the 10th anniversary of its London showroom next month during London Design Week.

‘Ten years ago we took on the challenge of opening the first showroom across the English Channel – even before the space in Milan, which opened five years later,’ says Tiziano Allievi, Porada ceo. ‘Our efforts have been rewarded with a wonderful reception on the English soil; our history and our products, which speak of Italian savoir-faire and a tradition that we have been handing down for three generations, have inspired many projects.’

‘Our presence in a cultural and multi-ethnic crossroads such as London, at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour – a hub entirely dedicated to the big names in international design – was undoubtedly a winning choice in terms of relations, strategy, and visibility of the brand and products,’ says explains Mauro Nastri, Porada export manager. ‘English-speaking customers were able to understand our style and recognise the quality in terms of production, skillfully incorporating our pieces into their homes or projects.’

‘Canaletta walnut has always been the most popular finish with our English customers, although in recent years lighter and darker finishes have started to be appreciated, together with marble and metal. Among the products that have made the British fall in love with Porada are the Infinity table in all its variations, debuted in 2009, the Softbay sofa, and the Four-Season mirror; and among the newer pieces, the Copine armchair with a wooden base, the Ekero coffee table and the Sveva in a chair and stool versions are the most popular,’ says Chiara Prestigiacomo, the showroom manager.
