11am will see D Day silence

Retail stores, factories and businesses are expected to fall silent at 11am as the country pays tribute to those who fought in D Day.

A two-minute silence will begin at 11am to mark the roles played by the 156,000 men who invaded the Normandy beaches resulting in the beginning of the end of the Second World War.
