17th century palazzo is Edra’s new Milan showroom

Edra has opened a flagship showroom in Milan: in a 17th century palazzo in the centre of the city.

The company has taken over the first floor of Palazzo Durini Caproni di Taliedo in via Durini.

Built from 1646-1648, the building has been restored several times, including after the Second World War when it was badly damaged, after which it hosted offices and in 2000 when the Caproni family again set about its renewal.

‘We were looking for a “home” in Milan, a space that could communicate the values of our company. We wanted a cosy space, in which everyone would also feel welcomed. Without knowing, we were already simply looking for Palazzo Durini Caproni di Taliedo,’ says Monica Mazzei, Edra vice-president.

‘Surrounded by large free-standing mirrors, and under frescoed ceilings, the sofas and accessories inspire a dialogue between history and modernity, architecture and furniture,

evoking enduring beauty. The opening of Palazzo Durini sets more than one goal: enabling visitors to appreciate the value of Edra’s furnishings and, at the same time, access an extraordinary historic building rarely opened to the public, until now.’
