VP sees flooring and tile boost as MFI hits £500,000 sales

Victorian Plumbing has seen sales of flooring and tiles reach 8% of sales, while MFI has seen half-year sales hit £500,000.

The UK’s largest bathroom retailer says flooring and tile sales were worth £14m, up from £7.6m in the six months to the end of March, ‘aided by infrastructure investment and enhancements in our customer proposition.’

It says it has invested in lower prices to help its entry into the market, and it expects the proportion of flooring and tile trade sales to increase.

After its soft launch in July 2025, MFI has seen performance improve as the group has widened its product offer to more than 5,500SKUs.

‘We are particularly proud of our achievements in the bedding and textiles category. Furniture, in both garden and home, also continues to improve and we anticipate more progress in this category by the end of the financial year. Gross profit for the period was £200,000m. Gross margin sits between 30% and 40% currently as most product is UK sourced,’ says Stephanie Judge, Victorian Plumbing ceo.

The group says it may place a great emphasis on the Republic of Ireland market after seeing increased orders from its UK website. ‘We are already delivering an increasing amount of order volume to the Republic of Ireland through our UK domain, which could facilitate some focused and disciplined investment to better serve this growth market in the future. We also remain open to vertical integration opportunities in our supply chain as well as potential mergers and acquisitions in expansion categories.’
