A trio of trends for Brussels

The Brussels Furniture Fair will debut a trio of trends forecasts this weekend as the 2-5 November exhibition returns to Brussels Expo.

The 2026 trends will be showcased in the corridors between Halls 4-6. Abstract visuals are rendered concrete in physical products, selected from exhibitors. The route acts as a trend alert where products is removed from their commercial context. A different backdrop offers a different angle, offering the opportunity to reconsider and perhaps take a another look at it on the stand.

Eclectic Vision: this eclectic trend is the ultimate in self-expression. Freestyling! Your interior is a collage of then, now and later; of here, there and everywhere. A journey through time, cultures, styles and colours. You follow your intuition. This is me. Nothing or nobody is perfect. Imperfection equals character and life. You are liberated from the need to choose: no more either/or – now you can have both. With black and white you mix your own shade of grey. Uni-colours with patterns, straight with circular, old with new. Retro is an interior style; vintage is a lifestyle. You select the best of all worlds for a better world – now and in the future.

Fluid Fusion: this fluid trend follows the flow of nature. Your interior exudes natural vibes, the lively dynamic of nature. Organic lines that flow smoothly into one another, merging together in a never-ending living motion. Visualised in patterns, expressed in relief, made tangible in textures. The soft ripple of babbling water, the waves of sand on the beach, in the desert. The raw textures of tree bark, sculpted by the elements and the wind, layer upon layer, day in, day out. The silhouette of nature-grown leaves and flowers, of nature-shaped stones and rocks. The fascinating play of light, darkness and shadow, the eternal dance of wind and water.

Hidden Wonders: this trend is about the fifth dimension, the sensory experience of the interior. Exactly how this works is almost impossible to describe. It is a wonderful mix of abstract emotions, of subjective, sensory experiences. What speaks to you? How does it feel? What’s it like to sit on? How does it colour things? How does it smell? Does the ambience leave you wanting more? Organic shapes and transparent materials stimulate
the senses. They exert an irresistible attraction. You instinctively want to touch them. They evoke the primary sensory experiences: calm, warmth, intimacy, light, contact. In a word: home. This is a space and a feeling to enjoy with all your senses.
