January saw no annual change to retail prices for furniture: with no inflation or deflation.
The lack of annual change means the sector has not seen inflation since September 2025.
It is the third time in five months that inflation and deflation were absent, according to ONS data.
Lighting also saw neither inflation of deflation -albeit for the first time in more than a year – while garden furniture saw deflation continue its unbroken run which stretches well over 12 months. January saw deflation drop from 9.7% to 8.4%.
