Barry Owen-Smith, Hypnos Contract Beds London area sales manager died on 26 November after a long illness.
His strength, resilience, and kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey was one of incredible bravery, battling against Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), diagnosed in January 2022, following COVID in November 2021. His story is one of determination and selflessness.
Before his diagnosis, his biking events raised valuable funds for Hospitality Action. His determination to do good did not waver following his diagnoses, as he embarked on a remarkable journey, walking 1,000km and cycling 5,000km while relying on oxygen, to raise nearly £4,000 for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis.
His commitment to making a positive impact extended far beyond his own challenges, as his legacy is not only measured in miles walked or funds raised but in the immeasurable kindness he bestowed upon others. His generosity and genuine concern for those around him will resonate for years to come.
Hypnos has set up a Just Giving page for Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis in Owen-Smith’s memory to continue his charitable legacy.
