Ben Wain: ‘An 18 year extraordinary journey’

Ben Wain, the outgoing ScS head of flooring operations has described his almost two decades at the chain as an ‘extraordinary journey’.

Wain will leave the chain at the end of August after 18 years as it exits the flooring market with Italian upholstery retailer parent Poltronesofa focused on furniture.

‘I am incredibly proud and filled with gratitude for the unforgettable experiences and successes I’ve enjoyed [at ScS]. Leading and being part of amazing teams, collaborating with inspiring leaders, relocating twice for new opportunities, and achieving significant milestones within the business has all been an extraordinary journey. ScS also gifted me with the life-changing joy of meeting my wonderful wife, now of 10 years and forming some incredible lifelong friendships,’ says.

In the past decade Wain moved from senior branch manager of the Stockport store to Yorkshire and North East regional manager before becoming head of flooring operations in December 2021.

‘Since the announcement, my team and I have worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth operational close-down and minimising disruption to our teams and customers. While we are not quite at the finish line, I feel it’s time to look ahead and begin seeking the next challenging and rewarding path.

‘I am seeking senior roles where I can leverage my extensive experience in sales and operational leadership, drive impactful projects, and continue to contribute to organisational growth. To those who remain in the business, thank you for your continued support and friendship. I am extremely excited about what the future holds for ScS.’
