Bensons strengthens board

Bed chain Benson for Beds has strengthened its board, adding Lindsay Haselhurst as non-executive director.

Haselhurst is chief operating officer at Currys, responsible for channels, operations and B2B having joined the chain in 2020 as chief supply chain officer leading its supply chain and end-to-end customer experience.

She joined Currys from B&Q and Screwfix parent Kingfisher, where she built the group supply chain function from scratch as global supply and logistics director. Before that, she was supply chain and operations director at Screwfix, where she played a central role in the business’ impressive growth in sales, profitability and customer satisfaction, through a step-change in the supply chain’s capacity and performance, and through an industry leading customer proposition. She has also held a number of senior roles at logistics giant Wincanton and started her career in various roles at Unipart and Tibbett & Britten. She is a recognised leader in international supply chain, logistics and retail with more than 20 years of experience developing strong relationships with suppliers and building customer-centric supply chains internationally.

‘It is a huge testimony to the business that Bensons is becoming, that we are able to attract someone of Lindsay’s calibre to join our board. She is a top-class retail operator and I’m excited to see the contribution she will make to our transformation programme, supporting Nick Collard and his team,’ says Ian Shepherd, Bensons chairman.

‘I am delighted to be joining Bensons for Beds at this exciting point in its transformation and look forward to working with Ian, Nick and the team,’ says Haselhurst.

She will join the Bensons board later this month.
