Next year’s Buying Group’s National Flooring Show will move to late April, but retain its mid-week schedule.
The two-day event in Solihull is scheduled to take place from 30 April-1 May Interiors Monthly has been told by sources. This is earlier than its original planed dates, which would of clashed with the third Flanders Flooring Days (13-16 May).
FFD plans to expand outwith local manufacturer’s showrooms for 2024, but then pause the show for 2025.
Interiors Monthly understands that a proposal to allow non-buying group member retailers (the show is normally open to buying group members and those considering becoming a buying group member) to attend the second day of the show were considered but rejected.
This follows the policy since the show’s foundation apart from one year when Midlands retailers were invited to visit in the later afternoon for the first day: something that few retailers took up.
The show had been looking to move from its Tuesday-Wednesday format to that of Sunday-Monday in an effort to boost footfall, but the Bank Holiday for the coronation of the King put paid to those plans this year, and 2024’s event will follow the same days.
