Carpet Recycling UK joins BFC

Carpet Recycling UK has joined the British Furniture Confederation, with Adnan Zeb-Khan joining its board.

‘We are pleased to be part of the BFC as the only organisation representing the carpet and textile flooring sector, working alongside other related trade associations getting our member’s views, achievements and challenges heard by ministers and government officials,’ says Zeb-Khan, CRUK scheme manager.

‘We are delighted to welcome CRUK and Adnan to the BFC executive. We are always open to approaches from other trade associations in the sector who feel they would benefit from working together on issues of common interest which we need to challenge or ask government about. Government policy on sustainability and responsible disposal or recycling of all products is one of the key subjects of ongoing interest and concern to all of us,’ says Jonathan Hindle, BFC chairman.

The British Furniture Confederation is made up of representatives from the UK’s leading furniture, furnishings and bed trade associations: BCFA; BFM; CRUK; FIRA; NBF; and Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers. It also has affiliations with other trade associations including: ACID and Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers.

The BFC maintains regular dialogue with government and other influential stakeholders in an effort to ensure that its policies and initiatives support a thriving furniture, furnishings and bed sector. Many of its activities are done in partnership with the All Party Parliamentary Furniture Industry Group, chaired by Mark Eastwood, Conservative MP for Dewsbury.
