This year’s Kidderminster Carpet Manufacturers National Charity Golf Tournament proved to be a record breaker.
‘Thanks to the support of sponsors, including Interiors Monthly; the main sponsor Manx Tomkinson and the generosity of all the players across the two days, we were able to raise more than £19,000, which we believe to be a record for the tournament,’ says Mike Dobson, event co-chairman.
The money raised will be split between Macmillan and a number of charities local to Kidderminster, for whom the donation makes a huge impact on their ability to serve the local community. In addition, for the first time in many years, the committee has donated a sum of money to the Furniture Makers’ Company in recognition of the work they do to support people who have fallen on hard times across the furnishing industry.’
The first day team winner was MCD Kidderminster, led by Mark Hunt; with Condor Carpets, led by Andy Smith, winning day two of the 16-17 May event.
Pictured are representatives from the charities which will be receiving donations, who were invited to a lunch at the golf club as a thanks for all the hard work they and their organisations do in their communities.
