A memorial service is to be held for Chris Melling on 8 December.
He died suddenly in Tenerife on 30 October. He was 62.
Melling spent a lifetime in the carpet industry. Starting his career at Boardman’s in Wigan, he went into the flooring distribution industry as sales representative at Wilkies, followed by buyer and then general manager at Rolfe & West. He then joined Furlong as md at Preston and later established TCS The Carpet Specialist in the UK. Chris then finished his career as general manager at A&A in Manchester before retiring to Tenerife in 2021.
He is survived by his wife Carol, son Craig – general manager at A&A Carpets – and three grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
The service will be held at Church of St Wilfred, 13 Rectory Lane, Standish, Wigan WN6 0XA from 12pm-1pm.
