Cambridgeshire independent flooring retailer Crowland Carpets has opened a second store, after initially looking for a warehouse.
The company – run by father-and-son Ben and Dekota Cowing – has had a store in Market Deeping, near Peterborough since 2015. Now it has opened a second branch 16 miles away in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
The pair had begun looking for a warehouse during the pandemic to store flooring which could not be fitted as customers had caught Covid.
But when looking at properties they realised it would be more cost-effective to buy a store with warehouse facilities, so the Bourne store was opened.
‘We are hoping that the people of Bourne accept our new store and come and visit us. I have high expectations for this store, I think it has good vibes,’ says Ben Cowing.
