Bedroom furniture manufacturer Curtis Furniture is investing £1m expanding its production capacity.
The company has bought a 25,000sqft factory unit which will add to its 70,000sqft Leeds premises.
The company says this will shorten lead times and create 30 jobs.
The extended facility due to be fully operational by January 2026. The new space will house a state-of-the-art production line, including a new beam saw, edge bander and two CNC routing and drilling machines.
It is also investing in new industrial extraction units, a full compressed air system and upgraded LED lighting as part of its continued commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
‘Expanding our manufacturing footprint and increasing employees to 150 shows our commitment to driving growth in UK manufacturing. This investment will massively speed up our lead times, improve efficiency and support our sustainability goals,’ says Paul Tierney, Curtis Furniture head of operations.
