End of the road for Peter Green

Hampshire furniture and flooring independent Peter Green Furnishers has gone into liquidation, ending almost 70 years of trading.

Last week Interiors Monthly reported on the uncertainty surrounding the store’s future after it failed to open for the late May Bank Holiday and a noticed taped to the front door told potential customers that ‘Peter Green will be closed until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience.’

The Chandlers Ford store had continued to post on social media about its latest offers. Shoppers who had responded to the retailer’s posts complained they had visited the store to see the advertised products, only to find the store closed.

Now liquidators have been appointed and the remaining stock will be auctioned.

Xeinadin Corporate Recovery Services has been named as liquidator for the 66-year old company and John Pye will attempt to sell the remaining stock.

Customers with enquiries about orders have been told to contact John Pye.
