INDX Beds & Bedroom has revealed its line-up of speakers, headed by Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill.
The Sleepeezee brand ambassador and former Olympic champion will start the talks at 10am on 26 April, discussing how sleep can affect all aspects of life. Reflecting on her career as a world-class athlete, Ennis-Hill will share how sleep influences her daily routine, travel schedule and family life whilst providing insight on the importance of sleep and why your mattress matters. She will present to talk again at 2pm.
At 11am Richard Essery, Harrison Spinks director of sustainability and innovation, will discuss circular design: what is sustainability and how can we use it to improve the bed industry, raw material selection and their relative merits in terms of circularity, considering what the missing piece of the jigsaw is and how innovation can help to solve it.
At noon Hannah Shore, Silentnight sleep knowledge and research manager will explore sleep and physical rest. With a background in biomechanics, in Shore’s role she explores everything that impacts the physical process of sleep, including physical support, comfort and heat and moisture management. She is also studying sleep medicine at the University of Oxford part time, which is enhancing her knowledge of the neurological side of sleep.
At 1pm Angela Moran, Silentnight ESG director will discuss how the bed industry can reduce its environmental footprint by understanding more about carbon emissions, choice of materials, third party accreditations and recycling, as well as exploring the latest ideas to drive change for a more sustainable future.
On 27 April Richard Naylor, Hypnos sustainable development director will start the day’s talks with Sustainable Development: 10 Step Plan for Businesses. Do you want to be a sustainable business and not sure how to get started? Naylor will outline his 10 step guide on how to get started, from setting a purpose and building a business case through to governance, leadership and reporting. This whirlwind talk will help you think through the steps you have already taken or want to take in this decade of action.
He will be followed by Sleep Success with Kerry Davies, The Sleep Charity sleep practitioner discussing the importance of sleep and how retailers can harness this knowledge when helping customers choose the right products for them.
Moran will complete the talks with her presentation on reducing environmental footprint.
