The Bed Show, the bed industry’s favourite event, is back for its 12th year from 20-21 September at the Telford International Centre alongside the NBF Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
With another strong line-up of British and Irish bed manufacturers and suppliers, as well as a number of European component suppliers, the two-day event is a celebration of the leading bed brands coming together with hundreds of bed buyers and specifiers.
The NBF Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony is back to full capacity for 2022, and the evening of the first day promises to be a fantastic night of celebration and fun for the bed trade. This year’s host is popular TV and radio presenter Colin Murray, who has covered everything from sport to music to lifestyle in his varied career and is the current host of Channel 4’s long-running quiz programme, Countdown.
A drinks reception will take place from 7pm, followed by a three-course dinner and coffee from 8pm. Sponsored by Sleepeezee, the NBF Bed Industry Awards celebrate the most successful and innovative bed retailers, manufacturers and suppliers. The bumper crop of awards aims to recognise industry leaders across 11 categories: Small NBF Retail Champion of the Year; Large NBF Retail Champion of the Year; Outstanding Bed Store/Department of the Year; National Bed Retailer of the Year; Online Bed Retailer of the Year; Bed Product of the Year; Bed Manufacturer of the Year; NBF Member Sales Agent/Rep of the Year; Component Product of the Year; Component Supplier of the Year and Best Marketing Campaign.
As many retailers continue to increase their product offering, the Bed Show is the ideal opportunity to see all the best names in the industry under one roof, including Airsprung, Breasley, Harrison Spinks, Hypnos, Millbrook, Relyon, Sealy, Shire Beds, Silentnight, Sleepeezee, Sweet Dreams and Vispring, plus many other manufacturers and suppliers.
‘This year it feels like we will finally be getting back to a more normal Bed Show, and I know all our exhibitors are working on exciting new product and marketing developments to launch in Telford. Our Suppliers Innovation Zone returns after its successful introduction last year, plus we are planning some exciting new features for our NBF Hub,’ says Jessica Alexander, National Bed Federation executive director.
Nowhere else will visitors get to see such a wide range of large and small companies and most major UK brands, to view all the latest product and material innovations and developments. Although the show’s exhibitors come predominantly from the UK, several European component suppliers attend the trade’s bed event of the year. This year’s supplier member exhibitors include Apropa, Boyteks, CPS Group, Epic Logistics, Enkev, GTA Belgium (Monks and Pieters Textiel), Handy, John Cotton, Leggett & Platt, Maes Mattress Ticking, Mert Makina, Nestor Springs, Rawsons, Recticel, Spinks, The Vita Group and Wolf Components.
‘We love the Bed Show. It gives us a focal point in the year to ensure that product development is ready to show customers. Personally speaking, it’s a great time to mix with customers and suppliers, catch up with former colleagues and meet new customers,’ says James Appleyard, Deluxe Beds sales director.
‘We’re looking forward to seeing our customers and all the NBF members again, and celebrating all the hard work and successes at the annual Gala Dinner and Awards on the evening of 20 September,’ says Ebrahim Patel, Vogue Beds director.
‘Attending the Bed Show gives us the opportunity to meet customers old and new. You never know who will be in attendance and the opportunities that may step onto the stand. As a supplier exhibitor, it’s also the showcase for product development we’ve undertaken with our NBF brand partners. It’s often the first opportunity for us to see their finished products we’ve been working towards,’ says Chris Francis, Enkev UK UK sales manager.
‘Natural, traceable, organic and biodegradable fillings are more relevant now than ever. Enkev is proud of our valued position as a NBF supplier, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Bed Show.’
A new meeting point in the NBF Hub will host some of the industry’s experts in technical support and provide a comfortable space to sit back, relax and catch up with colleagues. After a challenging year, visitors are encouraged to come together again and celebrate all that is great about the UK bed industry. With an abundance of established exhibitors, returning names and even first-timers, visitors will not be disappointed with what is on offer, with a product selection that meets every price point.
