The retail value of furniture sales saw mixed fortunes in January.
Sales were worth £194,440,000 in England, Wales and Scotland, according to ONS data, in January 2024. This is a rose of 2.1% on December 2023 but a drop of 6.8% on January 2023.
Of the 457 months since comparable records began in January 1986, January 2024 was the 153rd best performing month.
The data is not seasonally adjusted, does not allow for inflation and is subject to revision.
