Footfall picks up

Footfall picked up in the past week, with high streets enjoying the greatest rebound.

Non-food retail footfall dropped by 14.8% compared with 2019 in the week to 13 November. This compares with a drop of 19.1% a week earlier.

High streets saw footfall 11.9% lower (-17.6%), retail parks were down 13.3% (-15.3%) and shopping centres were 16.2% lower (-19.4%), according to the Ipsos Retail Traffic Index.

The Midlands was the best performing region, with footfall down 12.4% (-19.2%).
