The value of furniture and lighting sales in England, Scotland and Wales dropped again in May but was still well ahead of 2019.
Sales were £1.242bn, down £49m (3.8%) on April 2022.
Compared with May 2021, sales were 9.28% lower but were 12.55% higher than May 2019’s £1.1bn.
According to Office for National Statistics, May was the 36th best month since comparable records began in January 1986. Since then sales have averaged £866.7m a month.
