Lorna Haigh, Alternative Flooring creative director
is to step back from the company after a quarter of
a century.
The move at the Ulster Carpets Group subsidiary comes as Stephen Brooks was officially confirmed as md.
Brooks spent 16 years as operations and IT director at £19m turnover bathroom and plumbing accessory company Croydex, followed at over a year at patient protection supplier Kingsway Group as coo.
Haigh will switch to a consultancy role at the end of this month, working with the marketing team on ongoing product development and launches providing creative support. She has guided the creative expression of the brand’s ‘Different feels good’ proposition through distinctive marketing campaigns, visual storytelling, and carefully chosen collaborations with some of the most prestigious designers.
Her instinct for colour and design has been central to the brand’s identity.
‘I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities Alternative has given over the 25 years. There are not many roles where you can work with a team that feels like family, meet The King (twice), visit Number 10, steer the company’s values and collaborate with some of the best in the interiors industry,’ says Haigh.
‘I am delighted to continue in a creative capacity at Alternative and very much look forward to working with Stephen and the team.’
‘I have already been hugely impressed by the passion, creativity and talent across the business. My initial focus will be on listening and understanding the business through the people who have made it successful, while building on the strong foundations already in place,’ says Brooks.
‘I would also like to recognise Lorna’s enormous contribution over many years, and I am pleased that the business will continue to benefit from her experience and creativity in her consultancy role. Alternative Flooring has a unique brand, a talented team and exciting opportunities ahead, and I am looking forward to helping shape the next chapter of growth and success.’
