Hilco ‘secures Cath Kidston deal’

Home and fashion brand Cath Kidston has been bought by investment and restructuring firm Hilco.

Hilco has secured a deal with Baring Private Equity Asia, according to The Times.

BPEA took control of the brand in 2016, but placed into administration in 2020 before retaining ownership in a pre-pack deal. This saw the closure all of its UK stores.

Since then four UK stores have been opened alongside almost 100 shop-in-shops, its ecommerce website and trade operations. There are also eight international franchises.
