HSL looks to new format for disruption

Motion upholstery and bed retailer and manufacture HSL will ‘disrupt the industry making it easy for consumers to find great quality furniture that balances comfort and functionality with modern styling,’ with its new store format.

The first Livhome store will open on the Racecourse Retail Park, Aintree be the end of the year.

As well as in-house designed upholstery and beds, it will feature ranges from Guiseppe Nicoletti, Himolla, Hypnos, Harrison Spinks and Stressless.

It will also stock the full Carpe Diem bed range, the only store outside London to do so.

‘Over time, both product design and service in the furniture market have become mundane, mediocre and confusing for customers who are increasingly concerned about making mistakes with high value purchases. We know good furniture and aim to provide a fresh approach for design-orientated consumers looking for furniture and lifestyle products that make them feel as good as they look. Setting new standards for quality and style and delivering exceptional customer service, we are confident that consumers will appreciate the collection and enjoy the browsing experience in the showroom,’ says Leanne Eastwood, HSL commercial director.

The company will also sell online.

HSL plans to take a cautious expansion route, with no other stores planned for two years.
