JYSK saw sales in the UK and Ireland enjoy a double-digit increase in its past financial year.
Sales grew by 13.2% to €120m (£99.8m), as it invested in store openings and lowering prices.
Customer numbers climbed by 400,000 to almost 2.5million as it opened five branches: the newest Dublin store at Liffey Valley has immediately reached the highest footfall levels seen by the chain in Ireland.
Sales growth in indoor furniture, homewares and textiles were the standout categories, while sleepware also saw increases.
‘I’m very pleased with the increased customer growth achieved during FY24, which clearly shows that our proposition and offering continues to appeal to new customers in both markets. Although global uncertainties and unrest continued during the financial year 2023/24 (FY24), we invested in lowering our already competitive prices on over half of our popular quality products and included even more products in our popular “Everyday Low Price” assortment. This resulted in significant increase in the number of units sold,’ says Roni Tuominen, JYSK UK and Ireland country director.
The focus of expansion now turns to Ireland, with eight branches planned for the current financial year. This and to support online growth has seen the chain invest in a ‘dark store’ warehouse in Dublin.
